And the show must go on...

Sadly, I'm a bit behind in everything I have been wanting to do, including posting here, which I apologize for. Jehan and I are continuing to work on buying a house, and am preparing to close and move Easter weekend. I"m also on my incubation week 30 coming up, which has left me exhausted. So working on things just are not happening.

Our dear Shire of ACG held its 25th anniversary event on March 1st, where Jehan was the autocrat. It was quite the experience for us both, and we learned alot. While there, I was suprized and awarded my Golden Alce, a fighting award in the Kingdom of AEthelmearc. My dear friends Don Po and Lady Christina created the scroll for me. I love the fact that she added the lamb, since my device is a vegetable lamb. It made the day extra special and I will cherish this forever.

Sadly, I have not really gotten too much SCA work done, but packing and cleaning has been going slow. Probablly will not be doing too much crafting until after the move, but I am quite ready to start nesting before this baby comes. So if my creativity has to be put on hold, so be it.

Sadly, I have not been the best at updating my blog the beginning of this year like I had hoped. Luckly, I do have pictures which is always a plus.

Back at our fall QRC, I was honored by being able to create the Award of Arms scroll for our dear friend Lucha. In the SCA, being awarded your AoA allows you to use the title Lord or Lady. This was my first kingdom level scroll, and I like the way it turned out. It was my first time really altering a period scroll, and also attempting to color match  and use color for depth. I unfortunatly have a bad habit of making my work look very flat.  I also was given the chance to make another zule (an award for service) scroll for the barony. While I am not an official member of said Barony, I so some scrolls to help them out. I like doing them on this level for it allows me to be more creative, experiment, and learn about illumination at my pace. I hope to one day be on the scribes list at a kingdom level, but until then, I am enjoying what I do for our friends in the Barony.

Yesterday, Jehan accepted a Blue Scarf from Don Po silvertop. What this means is he is under the tutorial of Po to learn to become a better fencer, learn decorum and other things needed of someone at the White Scarf level. I completed the embroidery for the scarf, Jehan's leige Rowan applied the work through applique, and her Lord Brad sewed the scarf for this big day.





It was a long day of driving, marshaling, and retaining,
but as always, it was a lot of fun.On the way to said event I finally finished my italian coif, that I had embroidered and sewn over 5 years ago when I first started. Sadly, all it needed was clips for my hair, but between moving so many times, and being as unorganized as I am, I misplaced it, and was able to wear it this past weekend. I have a bit more work to do on it I think, and will hopefully be able to wear it again at our shire 25th anniversary which will be held on March 1st. While I prefer the look and wear of more middle to lower class garb, I do tend to alter from that with my headgear. I am very slowly upgrading my garb and am having a bit of trouble simply with how tired I am and busy as well. I'm hoping to slow down a bit more since I'm about to hit my 5th month of pregnancy, and traveling is becoming more and more interesting. But I'll keep going like I am and make this as interesting as possible.

Just a few updates around the hollidays...

     Well, we have been busy as usual since our October adventure to New York. I'm still working with Maria on dresses, although the new Tudor dress we started we are postponing. The shire has had another successful FFF&F and Their Royal Majesties have a new Queen's Rapier Champion- Our dear friend THL Orlando. This year seems to be wrapping up so pleasantly. I have also been re-elected for the Seneschal position for another 2 years, so hopefully I can keep the ball rolling the way I am now.

     Jehan and I have the joyous news to share with everyone...we are expecting our first child at the end of June. So not only are we going to be busy with our SCA positions, but we will have a wee one of our own to take care of. Hopefully I can share some baby clothing patterns with everyone, once we have the baby. Sadly, that is really it for now. I haven't been feeling up to doing too much work, due to being tired all the time, but I have continued to work on Kumihimo. I am also not allowed to fence, so I have been doing a lot more teaching. Hopefully I can post some picture updates from some back scrolls that I have been working on, as well as my side projects.

A day of Vivats!

Well, this has been a busy few weeks for Jehan and I, but this weekend was of special note. His brother, Jeff, married his belovied Kim, in New York this past weekend, and we were in attendance for the event.

a few miles down the road (literally), Crown tournament was proceeding to find the Heirs of AEthelmearc...Vivats to Prince Tindal and Princess Etain!
