The year 2012

2012 is going to be a big year for me. I start my new job on Jan. 3, and Jehan starts  his new job on on the 9th. We also will be looking and moving into a new apartment, which I will be quite happy about. The biggest thing that we will be working on will be our wedding, which we are hoping to hold in my home town on May 24, 2013. I am making my wedding dress which will be based off of this dress:

This will be my first attempt at a Tudor gown, so I am extremely nervous about doing it. I fell in love with this dress a few years ago, and now I think its time to try it. The nice thing about this dress is that I will be able to use it as a court dress after the wedding. The major problem I will have is trying to figure out how to attach a veil to a french hood, or if I will forget the hood for the wedding and just use a veil. That will need more research for what they used to do. This will definitely be the big project of the year. I am also making all the outfits for the wedding party, so I will be a very busy lady for the year.

A secondary goal, which will be over sooner that I realize it, will be to finish a pair of Scandinavian socks for Ice Dragon in March. Unfortunately, I don't know if this will happen due to taking my state boards at the end of January. Until then, that will be my major focus, so my focus will be pretty narrow for the next 30 days. This will also be my first Pennsic this summer, so some basic garb will need to be made so I can last a week and not have to worry about laundry too much. I will need a good sewing machine, so that will be a big need for my adventures. There will be a few other added projects that will need to be completed, but for now that is the major ones. Hopefully I can accomplish them and many more

Till then, wishing you and yours a very happy new year,
